What treatment changes
What it does, and when
No before-and-after photographs, because they prove nothing about hormones. What follows is the timeline the research supports and the honest limits on it.
What it will not do
It will not make you younger. It corrects a deficiency, and that is a different claim.
It will not fix a problem that was never hormonal. If your testosterone is normal, low testosterone is not what is wrong, and treating it anyway wastes a year.
It will not replace sleep, food or training. Men who fix those alongside treatment do markedly better than men who do not.
It will not preserve your fertility. Testosterone suppresses sperm production. If you want children, say so before we start -- there are other routes, and enclomiphene is one of them.
It is not a weight loss drug. Body composition shifts. The scale often does not.
The honest part
Roughly a third of men who come in convinced they need testosterone do not have low testosterone. Two morning draws is how we find that out. Being told no is a result, and it is cheaper than a year of treatment that was never going to work.
